Benefits of Mango and Durian

Durian is a flesh fruit that is often called the 'King of Fruits' in Southeast Asian. It's outside is thorny, while it has yellow cream like pulp within that tastes like custard. The fruit is also knows for its strong odour as it contains some sulphur.
Mango is usually a sweet fruit, and is one of the most popular fruits around. The taste and texture varies with different types of mangoes. Some are soft and pulpy while others are firmer. It can be used for flavouring, made into beverages or even had alone.
NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF DURIAN
• It has about 65% water content and is rich in fibre helping ones digestion.
• It has a high percentage of carbohydrates, fats, protein and sugar. Hence a controlled consumption is advised.
• It also has a high amount of kcal per serving, so should be avoided if you are trying to lose weight.
• High blood pressure patients or pregnant woman are advised not to consume durians.

• It is rich in Vitamin C, hence increasing ones immune system against illnesses
• Since it is rich in phenols, it helps in getting rid of body toxins and hence detoxification. It can also prevent some types of cancer.
• It has a high iron content hence is recommended for anemic patients and pregnant woman. It also maintains a good circulatory system by producing red blood cells.
• Also rich in potassium, mangoes can reduce high blood pressure. It also helps lowering levels of bad cholesterol as it contains dietary fibres.
